After reading many books and studying about Lincoln and Washington, this week we used a Venn Diagram to compare/contrast facts we have learned Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. After that, the students worked in pairs to compare and contrast each other. With the help of college students from Fullerton College, the children did an EXCELLENT job completing Venn Diagrams on each other. Check out the photos & video below.

I'm happy to say that there is a new page on our website. It's called "Sight Words." On that page, your child will be able to practice reading and spelling the 100 most frequently used words in the English language. In the lower right corner you will find different activities in order to practice the sight words. Leave me comment and let me know how your child likes this new page. ENJOY!
We completed our Hershey Kisses Math Unit about a week ago. The class had lots of fun estimating and counting in order to put more kisses into our candy jar. We made cylinders and boxes to estimate, measure, and add kisses. Each day we made sure to group our cubes and kisses by tens in order to make counting more efficient. Check out all we did! In science, we have been learning about matter. On Wednesday, we had a liquid race between dish soap, honey, ketchup, and mustard. First, the children predicted which liquid would flow the fastest. Then, using a blue sticky note, they predicted which would flow the slowest. Last, we discussed the properties of a liquid and determined which ones were thick and which were thin. FUN!
