On Thursday, the local fire department visited with our first grade students. They brought their fire truck on campus and chatted with the students. They shared what it's like to be a firefighter, as well as all of the interesting gadgets on their fire truck. The firefighters even let the kids get into the truck and sit right in the front seat. Pretty Cool! Check out the photos below!!!

After being delayed a week, we finally had our annual Jog-a-Thon. The kids had a great time getting some exercise early in the morning. It was nice seeing parents attend, too
Have a great Memorial Day weekend!!! On Monday, our class went on our last big field trip of the year. First, we went to the beautiful Cerritos Library. The children heard a few stories, had a tour of the unbelievable children's section, and had a chance to learn about their enormous aquarium. The kind bus driver drove us across the street to Heritage Park. It's a great park, but a bit hard to really enjoy with temperatures in the 90s! The kids had a lot of fun and the adults were exhausted!!! I think that is the definition of a successful field trip! Thanks again to all of those parents who came along with us. On Tuesday, we took a nice, long walk to In N Out on Pioneer. The staff at In N Out did an excellent job showing the kids what happens behind the scenes. We saw how the french fries are prepared, how the produce is kept fresh, and where they do all of the cooking. Lastly, each child was generously given a burger, fries, and a drink. Camille, Gabe, and Jose did an outstanding job and we are greatly appreciative. That afternoon, everyone wrote a "Thank You" I'd like to give a special thanks to the parents who came along with us! Thanks for all of your help!!
