We have been working on a short science unit about habitats, with the focus on animals of the ocean habitat. The kids are creating books in which we study a different animal each day, draw it, and write about it. We've studied about octopuses, sea stars, and whales so far. Next week it will be sharks, jellyfish & dolphins.
Here's What's Coming Up... for the Last Week of School
NO BACKPACKS NEXT WEEK!!!
* The first grade classes will celebrate the end of the school year by having a fun day at Gerdes Park on
June 15th from 8:30am - 11:00am. The kids may bring things to play with (ex. balls, footballs, frisbees, etc.) Also, the children may bring snacks to share. Parents are invited to come with us or meet us there!
**Please return the permission slip if you haven't already done so. Thanks!!
* June 17th is the last day of school!
June 15, 16, & 17 are ALL minimum days.
** Report Cards will go home with the kids on the last day of school, June 17th.
***Along with the report card, will be an
i-Ready 3- page report, for both math & reading, showing you how your child did on the i-Ready tests given 3 times during the year. The last page of the report will inform you of areas to further work on with your child over the summer. ***
i-Ready is just one assessment we use to determine
how students are progressing.
